La lente Sonar, brevettata da ZEISS appositamente per lo sci, ha la proprietà di filtrare la luce blu, come molti altri tipi di lenti tecniche, ma parzialmente, permettendo all’occhio di leggere le irregolarità del terreno, che altrimenti non verrebbero velocemente riconosciute. La lente Sonar aumenta quindi il contrasto dei colori e ne migliora la brillantezza, ma nello stesso tempo consente di identificare rapidamente dossi, ostacoli e avvallamenti, per sciare nella massima sicurezza. E’ una lente adatta a ogni condizione climatica con una categoria di protezione S2.
